Blue Bison Balm

$26.99

This Whipped Bison Tallow takes luxury skincare to the next level with Blue Tansy oil. This balm is actually a light blue color and smells sweet, herbaceous, and intensely aromatic with distinct fruity, apple-like notes.

We love it for a daily moisturizer for all skin types and skin conditions - especially sensitive skin.

Blue tansy oil is a powerful, nutrient-rich oil derived from a Moroccan flower, prized for its intense anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antioxidant properties. It effectively soothes irritated skin, reduces redness, treats acne, and promotes healing of damaged skin. Ideal for sensitive skin, it also aids in reducing wrinkles and protecting against environmental stressors.

This tallow is rendered right here on our farm - not from a container. No, not all tallow is created equally. A lot of tallow sold on the market is mixed chemical preservatives, and deodorizers or heated so hot that its stripped of all nutrients. Tallow from larger companies online are manufactured in the same large factories using cheap ingredients and not knowing the quality or the health of the animals. Know your animals and your source to guarantee the best product. This Bison Balm is made from grass-fed grass-finished Pennsylvania bison suet that we get directly from the farm. We render it on our homestead at a low temperature and the process takes a few days.

If you didn’t know, tallow balm mimics your skin barrier. This is one of the most powerful benefits of tallow balm—and why it’s a skincare “superfood.” The chemical makeup of high-quality tallow balm is extremely similar to our own skin’s DNA. This is what makes it so bioavailable—and why research suggests it can help support wound healing and reverse skin damage.

In addition it also:

  • Is Rich in Vitamins A, D, E, and K - Vitamin A is a natural retinol while vitamin K fights free radical damage.

  • Has natural linoleic acid - This stuff is so powerful that skincare companies are making linoleic acid face products. Little do they know it naturally occurs in tallow balm. Linoleic acid is an omega-6 fatty acid and antioxidant that works to moisturize, plump, and fight inflammation. It can also reduce acne, minimize scarring, and rebuild the skin barrier.

  • Is Naturally Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Bacterial - It won’t strip your skin of good bacteria. But it will still target the bad stuff and help remove it. Anti-inflammatory properties sweep in to help calm redness, acne, and other inflammation.

  • Can naturally increase collagen production - It won’t clog your pores - High-quality tallow balm is non-comedogenic, which means it works with your skin’s natural barrier, instead of against it. Even though tallow balm has a thick and creamy texture, it shouldn’t clog pores or lead to breakouts.

Bison tallow is similar to beef but it actually has higher omega 3:6 ratios and research suggests that it is even better for sensitive skin than beef tallow.

Bison fat has a proven track record—bison fat has been used by humans for tens if not hundreds of thousands of years, both used internally as a food as well as applied externally as a topical for skin care.

After rendering our tallow at a low temperature several times for several days, we mix in our jojoba oil infused with real Chamomile from the Berger Hollow garden to soften it and we add the Blue Tansy essential oil for that amazing scent.

Bison Tallow is rare and made in small batches so this one won’t last long!

Consult your doctor with questions or concerns.

As with anything containing herbs, and essential oils, first test on a small patch of skin to check for allergic reaction especially if you are allergic to ragweed.

  • Blue tansy oil - sweet, herbaceous, and intensely aromatic scent with distinct fruity, apple-like, and slightly camphoraceous notes

  • When temperatures are above 75F, your tallow orders may be exposed to heat and may melt or soften. Like other fats or oils, tallow is solid at room temperature, rock hard when refrigerated and liquid at warm temperatures. All of the containers are leak-proof. This does not effect the efficacy of your tallow but it can effect the texture making it feel a tad gritty. If your balm arrives melty, just stick it in the fridge to harden up. If it arrives rock hard, it should soften at room temperature or even between your warm fingers.

  • Store in a cool, dry place to maintain freshness. Does not need refrigeration.
